Powerlifter Abaeian banned for two years

TEHRAN – Iranian powerlifter Alireza Abaeian has been banned for two years for anti-doping rule violation.

He has been banned for using prohibited substance Fentanyl.

Abaeian is ineligible from Sept. 4, 2022 to Sept. 2, 2024.

Fentanyl can be absorbed into the body via inhalation, oral exposure or ingestion, or skin contact.  Fentanyl can be administered intravenously (IV), intramuscularly (IM), or as a skin patch.
